Anybody seen the new Bolton attack ad? He must be pretty desperate. For those who haven't seen it, here's a summary: Bolton stands there in a full body shot and never moves. He has a dour expression on his face as he says that Steve Cohen does not share our values. He says that Steve supports gay marriage, that Steve wants to legalize marijuana (I talked to Steve on the phone today. He does not. He supports medicinal use of marijuana which is no different than medicinal use of countless other drugs that can also be abused) and that Steve doesn't want people to use the name of Jesus in prayers.
Note to Bolton: For a tip on how to run a decent attact ad, check out Ed Bryant's new "Corker supports abortion" ad. Ed let's some women at a kitchen table beat the crap out of Corker. Then it cuts to Ed who talks positively about himself. Your ad did not do that. It had you attacking someone without offering anything about yourself. The best you could hope for from that is that I watch that and think "Steve must suck. Hmmmm... Who should I vote for. This guy (Bolton) seems like a negative meanie... Let's see who else is in the race." I don't see you pulling any Cohen voters away with it. Do you? If I even think about supporting Steve than I won't be swayed by: "Ahhh!!! The gays are coming..."
If not, then what's the point> Since all it does is attack Steve, it won't pull any voters from the other 19 candidates to you. In short, keep it up. The economy needs stimulated.

I have personal knowledge that Cohen, clad in his Star-of-David robes, has burned crosses on kindling composed of hashish and splinters from destroyed and sacked churches. I guess Julian didn't get wind of that, or surely it would have been in his ad.
He's saving that for election day along with pictures of Steve smoking out of a cross-shaped bong while performing a gay wedding.
Now that's the sort of anonymous commenter I can admire.
I should add that Thaddeus has some pretty good pseudonymous commenters, but all of his most witty regulars use some kind of a name. That's got to be the single best totally anonymous comment I've seen anywhere.
This isn't desperate this is Julian taking his best shot and understanding that Steve is ahead.. Julian and all the other black candidates have given up on getting any white votes. Now they are all trying to get the biggest chunk of black votes. Most of those voters are churchgoers who may respond to Bolton taking on Steve about issues that they don't agree with.
I am Anonymous #1, and I thank youse guys for the compliment. Anonymous #2 (who just joined inon the songsheet) is somebody else. What he says make sense, too.
What's wrong with legalizing marijuana?

Steve Cohen was seeking to legalize marijuana in the state of TN before he decided to get in the Dist. 9 race. I hope he push for it on a federal level when he wins. The federal government has been aware of marijuana being effective in the treatment of several illnesses, mine included. The federal government research of marijuana has been going on for 20 years, supplying select individuals with marijuana with positive results. The only reason our government prefer not to legalize marijuana is because the pharmaceutical companies will not be able to peddle push the man made drugs that kills and it is not profitable to the pharmaceutical companies than allow marijuana to become legal for medicinal purposes.
